What is credit and how do I earn it?
In the high school setting, credit is awarded to students for earning a passing grade in a class (A, B, C, or D). The credit for students is earned on a semester schedule where each class is worth 0.5 credits per semester. In district 204, students are required to earn 24 credits in order to graduate and earn a diploma.
If a student fails to earn credit for a course, that credit MUST be made up at some point in their high school career. This requires a conversation with your school counselor to discuss options for how to recover that credit so you can stay on track to graduate with your peers.
